After the Feast captures a moment of stillness after the vibrancy of shared meals and conversation. The chairs stand stacked in quiet formation, their metallic frames faintly catching the soft remnants of light. The tables once alive with plates of fresh sardines, clams and gambas now sit bare beneath the shelter of the awning. Lingering scents of salt and smoke drift through the still air mingling with echoes of laughter and distant conversation.

I am drawn to these silent pauses where life momentarily withdraws but leaves behind its imprint. The wet plate collodion process mirrors this feeling perfectly with its smudges, streaks and ghostly imperfections becoming part of the story. The scratches on the surface feel like whispers of past gatherings, of meals that fed more than the body.

There is nostalgia here but also quiet anticipation. These stacked chairs are not abandoned; they wait. For another day, another gathering, another feast where people come together nourished by food and the simplicity of shared moments.
