Horizon Distant captures a moment suspended between light and shadow. The sky presses low, fractured and heavy, as the sea absorbs the last remnants of light. The horizon blurs where sky and water meet, dissolving into a seamless plane of darkness. Deep blacks shift into soft greys, creating an endless expanse suspended in time.

This work draws inspiration from the horizon itself, a boundary between the known and the unknown. It reflects the quiet tension of this space, where light fades and the infinite feels both within reach and unreachable.

Edges are softened by the raw imperfections of the wet collodion process. Ghostly marks, streaks and delicate abrasions emerge across the frame, while the darkened border seems to peel away, exposing the fragility of the image. The medium mirrors nature’s unpredictability, enhancing the sense of impermanence with its tactile textures.

Horizon Distant invites reflection on stillness and surrender, where light fractures and dissolves into shadow. It considers the fleeting beauty of transitions and the quiet power of spaces that resist definition.
