"Some doors are meant to stay closed, yet they open something within us."
The Quiet Threshold captures a doorway steeped in stillness. The stone holds its breath, and light drifts softly along the walls before disappearing into shadow. What waits beyond the closed door doesn’t matter, it is the stillness that speaks.
Drawn to places where time feels paused, I let the wet plate collodion process guide this image. Its imperfections, soft edges, faint streaks and subtle textures mirror the quiet weight of the scene. The rough stone, the worn door, the gentle fall of light all speak to a moment caught between movement and rest.
Nothing moves, yet everything feels on the edge of becoming. This is what I search for in my work: spaces that don’t reveal everything, moments that invite us to simply stand and feel. The door may remain closed, but it stirs something deeper, something just out of reach.
