Artist statement
The sunlight was blazing hot and completely golden in color reflecting onto the surface of the ocean. I took many shots, some with the sun, some without, and some with camera movement to blur the reflections into pure golden color. I call my technique “Image Architecture” where my approach to constructing the image is to first break apart a scene into component parts by taking many photographs of the scene from myriad angles – from the air, from the land, at different times of day, etc. -- then use those parts as the building blocks for reconstructing a new scene with minimalist, geometric, and architectural overtones.
