About the art
Artist statement
For this image I had access to some palm fronds which I assembled to cast shadows onto a textured surface. After capturing several variations of this scene, I reassembled the parts into a new geometric composition that emphasizes the meditative beauty of Nature's symmetry. This image is from my “Odyssey” portfolio series, which features scenes that have been broken apart and reassembled into an abstract interpretation of the subject with an underlying geometric structure reflecting our desire to mentally dig deep into the surface of our environment to find its meaning.
