Artist statement
The images from my Juxtapose portfolio are made up of compositions using images with diverse often unrelated topics and give birth to a new reality with the colors and forms interacting to form relationships beyond the reality of what they are. They become pure compositions of light, shape, and color. They become pure compositions of light, shape, and color. In this instance, a nautilus shell is combined with a sandy beach and a background of wind-blown sand from a sand dune in Death Valley. Things that don’t usually go together, until we juxtapose them.
