About the art

Artist statement
This painting is a diptych. The title of the work is in Finnish because it is a pun related to the Finnish language. "Leikin varjolla" can mean "Playing with shadow", but in this case, it means doing something for fun. "I Play with the Shadow - I Play with the Light" together mean "Playing with light for fun". The starting point for the painting was the reason to use a glowing blue pigment which, as a matte surface, seems to absorb light when glowing to itself. This painting has previously been featured in my solo exhibition at the Kemi Art Museum, Finland 2019 and in a solo exhibition at a gallery Harmaja Oulu, Finland 2020.
