Artist statement
Why buy 100 items that won’t last when you can buy 1 item that lasts forever. It’s easy to be sold on what’s cool, but "cool" changes and sometimes very quickly. Some things are just timeless (not cool) and they are crafted to stand the test of time. This could be anything from a car to clothes to a suit or a dress and that was always my thought with how I made my prints to make them last forever. The Birkin bag has been a long-standing muse of mine and as they are hard to come by, I have photographed them slowly over the past 10 years. This is my most recent Black Birkin, shot on a Hasselblad film camera.
