Everywhere and nowhere at once

The Earth has been in constant flux for millennia. The tectonic plates below our feet move and shake, it is an unstoppable force and we have not choice but to go along for the ride. The transformation of the landscape is evident in the rivers that flow and have carved great canyons or earthquakes so powerful that earth rose from the sea.

For The evidential testimony of time the physical artwork is as important at the imagery itself. The idea for a constructed photographic work was sparked by the additivity principle; where the sum of the of a bisected shape, rearranged, will result in the same area total.

In this rational, this work can be seen as a visual metaphor for the malleable and changing landscape, but that it is a force that is always constant.

This artwork comes framed, with the artwork built into the structure of the external frame. The photograph is face mounted onto perspex and assembled as three individual pieces floated within the frame.
The dimensions of the artwork are 13xm (h) x 55cm (w) x 5cm (d) and is calculated from the external edges of the frame.
