Artist statement
Winding layers of paint travel across the canvas in an intertwining landscape, through valleys of colour. Echoing a geological strata, combining the arching of the ground where blue water seeps and earthy hues make their way around the drifting movement of sand up to the surface. Using subtle variations of paler hues and yellow for a gradual lightening and build-up of texture around the swathes of darker brown bands that curve up into folds, twists and turns rising towards brighter vistas.
