The Floating Rock

"The recent explorations in my figurative approach are largely developed from my experiences and observations of urban spaces and my perceptions of the issues associated with them. The visual language addresses the changing facets of human relations and the sensibilities of the time and place we live in. I view my environment from a perspective of constant change and try to introspect on the physical and emotional impact it has on my personal space, allowing me to develop a visual vocabulary of symbolism to express these complex realities.

The new series of works explores subtle references to the epic Ramayana, with images derived from various instances within the epic. These images hold significant relevance even in contemporary sensibilities due to their inherent symbolism and cross-cultural associations. References such as the ocean, floating rock, squirrel, golden deer, and sacred mountain carry importance and significance, reflecting the philosophy of existence and the idea of ‘renewal’ in terms of new prospects and rewarding associations."
