Artist statement
My work "Amanece" ("It dawns") is inspired by Art Deco.
Please, note that since this work has a rhombus shape, it measures in total 80 W x 80 H (diagonals) centimeters. (Without frames 72 W x 72 H centimeters).
For all my works, I cut small pieces of bark by hand and place them very carefully and gently on the canvas.
The different perspectives and the three dimensionality of the golden pieces give a sense of warm harmony and modern aesthetics.
My work is framed, finished with a museum quality UV protection varnish, signed on the back and ready to hang. All my works are sent with a Certificate of Authenticity and hand written thank you card.
The Dorada, Cobre, Roble and Carbon Series belong to the same family of three dimensional works.
My wall sculptures have been shortlisted for the international Rise Art Prize 2018 in London, UK.
