Artist statement
Title: 'Mixed Wave'
A gradient flows from burnt umber up to deep yellow, interspersed with alternating black and white between. Two lower horizontals stand out different to the rest, they are made of clear plexiglass and refract the light to have an effect on the turquoise below. An upper horizontal has an orange plexiglass capping.
The gradient that flows up and over has within it the menagerie of forms and materials. Reclaimed oak, birch ply, welding rods and copper plate scarified by plasma cutting. These elements come together to balance the yin yang of the piece.
Overall the flow and balance I was trying to achieve has been realised in this one of a kind piece.

Width: 22 inches (56cm)
Depth: 1 inch (3cm)
A single recessed keyhole slot is installed on the back, so the piece is ready to hang with just one screw in a wall. The keyhole hanging method also allows the piece to hang flush and secure to the wall.
I have signed and dated the artwork on the back.
