Artist statement
Title : 'Ode to Oscar'
Oscar Peterson - the great jazz pianist , a legend. This piece is a dedication to him.
Constructed from layers of salvaged piano parts. Each piece has been painted individually then adhered to the sculpture, slowly building up into a crescendo of shape, form and colour.
This piece measures:
Height: 25 inches (63cm)
Width: 17 inches (43cm)
Depth: 3 inch (7cm)
A single recessed keyhole slot is installed on the back, so the piece is ready to hang with just one secure screw in a wall. The keyhole hanging method also allows the piece to hang flush and secure to the wall.
I have signed and dated the artwork on the back.
