About the art
Artist statement
Representing purity, resilience, and the cyclical nature of life, , the lotus plant holds profound symbolism in eastern culture. The “Samsara" serires explores the concept of impermanence and the eternal flow of existence. Through the imagery of lotus flowers, leaves, seeds, and pods, alongside the reflection of a human figure, I aim to convey the idea that every stage of life, though transient, carries its own significance and beauty.
The lotus, rooted in the murkiest water yet blossoming gracefully above the water, serves as a metaphor for the human spirit to rise above adversity. The seeds and pods symbolize continuity and regeneration, while the mirrored figure represents the self, caught in the endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. The work invites viewers to reflect on the inevitability of change and the importance of embracing the present moment.
At its core, *"Samsara"* is a meditation on the duality of life—light and darkness, growth and decay, suffering and renewal. It is a call to find strength in vulnerability, to accept the impermanent nature of all things, and to recognize the potential for transformation even in the face of hardship. Through this piece, I hope to inspire a deeper appreciation for the fleeting beauty of life and the enduring power of the human spirit to rise, like the lotus, from the depths toward the light.
