About the art
Artist statement
For a long time, the image of Harlequin in European history was linked to the type of person who under the "mask" of stupidity and "out of this world" was in fact able to express to society, up to the highest levels, the unpleasant truth which others were afraid to pronounce for fear of being destroyed. He could call "white white as white" and "black as black".
In the contemporary world, the role of the Harlequin has been taken and shared by a community of press and culture. But the "frame" that society has imposed on itself with all sorts of restrictions in the realm of tolerance no longer allows "artists" to express themselves openly so as not to be rejected by society. Art loses its "poignancy" and becomes amorphous, becoming a matter of design and decoration.
The Harlequin has an opinion, but it remains silent and keeps it a secret.
