Artist statement
They say that what we perceive as “now” actually occurred 0.5
seconds ago.
So, the scene I’m currently viewing also happened slightly in the
past.
By capturing this scene with a shutter speed of one second, I
accumulated layers of memories.
I wanted to express the scenery of memories, which become
ambiguous over time, as well as the “now” of the ancient city of
Kyoto, which has over 1200 years of history.
