About the art
Artist statement
Growing up in a modern society, I am surprised to find the notion of “重男轻女”(males being more valued over females) albeit casual and subtle, are still prevalent. By acknowledging my own feelings, I have come to realise the importance of loving oneself.
I Am Enough is a self-portrait that shows both my vulnerability and strength. Through my art, I hope that all beings find Maitri – the practice of developing loving-kindness for oneself.
