About the art
Artist statement
Blue Bay Collection:
started in 2016, the series continue its evolution till present day and part of Yuliya's signature collections.
The process involves multiple layers of watercolour and acrylic background applied over and over to create a multi dimensional feel.
The canvas selection is absolute finest Italian cotton that is best for showcasing delicate washes as they dry.
Boats in its very minimalistic format, seem to hoover in the transparent tropical waters as the drop shadow creates the depth perspective. The buoy is florescent orange and pink, draws the attention and completes the serenity oozed from the artwork back to the viewer.
Overall the landscape is an abstract aerial view of the calm ocean, a perfect run away place, a peaceful refuge effortlessly taking your thoughts to the far far away luxury of privacy. The series address the issue of the overpopulation and scarcity of your own place. Longing to be on your own in a remote location. Highlights the aspiration for discovery and venturing out to find new shores and experience the voyage in all its beauty.
