About the art
Artist statement
This is a new development on my Migration cloud collection with a series of large cloud pieces the Story of Two.
The subject is absolutely romantic.
It's a metaphor to a couple and my ideals of what relationship is in the current times.
Fragility yet resilience of a graceful paper plane. Carrying a portion of infantilism, adventurous, determine with a great degree of optimism.
This new body of work is a balance or darkness and light, much like in relationship. There is no absolute. Plenty of challenge and underlying uncertainty. Cloud is ever changing but the rainy day always followed by clear sky.
This is how I see Two people going through life.
Watching over each other shoulder. On similar paths. Sharing trajectory. Ultimately heading towards the light (because I am an optimist deep underneath my skin of a realist)
I want to fill my canvas with aspiration, with light, with warmth
With sense of belonging, with focus on love that is both strong and fragile.
