Yunior Marino’s furniture series blurs the line between order and chaos. He brings to life organic objects full of texture that give the utilitarian object a sculptural air. Even when they are functional and surprisingly comfortable, an overwhelming visual pleasure prevails. Every piece of each piece of furniture has been handcrafted, from the smallest to the largest wooden balls. The excessive patience and time invested remind us how nature creates, slowly. Like a coral reef, where beauty has been sculpted by the hand of time.

This artwork is a striking sofa that transcends conventional design through its extraordinary texture and form. Upholstered with a multitude of spherical, earth-toned elements, the piece exudes an organic, tactile allure. These varied-sized spheres create a visually dynamic surface, inviting interaction and exploration. Supported by robust wooden legs, which enhance its earthy appeal, the sofa balances its unique texture with sturdy functionality. It stands as an evocative fusion of art and furniture, challenging traditional aesthetics. The natural color palette blends seamlessly into the environment, suggesting a harmony between nature and modern living spaces. This piece not only serves as a functional object but also as a conversation starter, urging viewers to reconsider the boundaries between utility and artistic expression. Its distinct craftsmanship embodies innovation, making it a memorable centerpiece in any space.

Yunior Marino completed his studies at the Instituto Superior de Artes de Cuba before settling in Miami. Mariño, an artist in every sense of the word, works not only as a visual artist but also as a musician and designer. He seeks by all means to investigate the universal questions of the cosmos, nature, and time. He has captivated audiences with the colorful details of his paintings, the moody, ethereal melodies of his music, and the directness of his photography. He conceives the creation of his paintings as mantras, in the sense that by repeating the same action, his mind empties completely.
The act of painting becomes a form of meditation. Mariño explains that the time and process of creating work are at the core of what the painting wants to mean, declaring: that is how they were made, they are what they are. Mariño frames the art of creation simply by fixing what we have once destroyed. He actively uses his past and the concept of the passage of time with universality to heal his present and future. For Yunior, the art of creating has no restrictions on the insular "being", but encompasses the larger universe, his paintings represent what "we are" and not only what we are as a race but "us" as a whole. He has worked in different countries and has exhibited extensively in Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Cuba.
