About the art
Artist statement
This sculpture was inspired by the doñana national park which is not far from where I have a house in the south of Spain. I have spent time in the park observing and photographing the wildlife. This sculpture is part of an exhibition I have been preparing about the wildlife which can be found in Doñana. This particular sculpture is a head study I made before beginning a life size Iberian lynx sculpture which is currently in process. I like to use texture and colour in my sculptures. My chosen medium is bronze because it lasts for hundreds of years.
