Artist statement
The LXV Cocktail Table is inspired by the period furniture of Louis XV. Certain motifs present in the furniture of the Louis XV period – complex curvature, symmetry, natural forms – already find some degree of expression in my work; the LXV series represents a further exploration of these formal and conceptual relationships.
The table is built using the stacked lamination method of solid wood construction. The wood is white oak, ebonized and finished with a satin lacquer.
