Artist statement
This is Henry—as in all those English Royals of times gone by, but also as in just a good loyal friend. Henry is a one-of-a-kind lamp lovingly handcrafted from a vintage, rare, hand-painted Royal Delft (De Porceleyne Fles) vase in Imari or “Pijnacker” (red, blue & gold or rood, blauw en goud) style, paired with a gorgeous lampshade in a soft Indian cobalt silk, gathered and finished off with a matching velvet tape. The vase base was made in 1971 and hand-painted by J. Breedveld.
