Introducing Maxima (as in the Queen of the Netherlands)—this one-of-a-kind lamp has been lovingly handcrafted from a vintage vase designed by Boch Frères Keramis in La Louviere, Belgium for Royal Sphinx (formerly Petrus Regout) in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Paired with a contemporary stunning vivid red silk lampshade, lined with gold, and a red cord, it has an elegant yet bold contemporary look. One worthy of a queen...

More information:
The vase that forms the base was made between 1969-1979, as indicated by the “Made for Royal Sphinx by Boch, Delfts” mark on the bottom. The underglaze decoration was applied by hand by means of transfer print: a method in which a monochrome print of the design on paper—from an engraved copper or steel plate—was transferred on to the vase by pressing it onto the ceramic piece. This process allowed for the production of incredibly detailed items, which would have been impossible to produce by hand-painting.
It is a beautiful dark blue, unique to the Delftware (blue and white Delft blue) produced by Petrus Regout & Co./ Royal Sphinx and other Maastricht factories.
