Artist statement
These blooming springs are a throwback to the iconic toy, invented by Richard James in the early 1940s. Its simplicity and timeless qualities are now expressed through various height springs, with individual tabletops and plant pots, all painted in a light gradient, with a soft matte surface.
Slinky becomes a floating plant stand for your favourite green arrangements or takes the form of a sleek side table - both enhancing its sinuous shape and sensory features.
The planters are hand-spun from a single sheet of aluminium, while the springs are made from an elastic type of steel, which allows them to be flexible on touch. Along with the aluminium tabletops, the elements of the collection are finished with high-quality paint and coating, which assures that these bouncy pieces are suitable for both indoor and outdoor spaces. Slinky’s versatile components can also be combined separately, allowing its user to interact directly with the collection.
What you get when buying a Slinky set?
- 3 flexible plant stands, shaped as springs, with different heights: 60 cm (23.62 inches), 45 cm (17.71 inches), and 25 cm (9.84 inches).
- 3 hand-spun planters, with 23 cm diameter (9.05 inches). We recommend filling the base with rocks to allow for proper draining or use the planters as trays in which you can place your existing plant pots.
- 3 circular tops that can turn any spring into a beautiful side table.
- a wonderful brochure describing the concept of Slinky, its technical details, and caring advice.
Slinky's gradient paint consists of three colors - coral orange, light grey, and petrol green.
(The plants presented in the pictures do not come with the set)
