About the art
Artist statement
The 1800, is part of a duo of sculptural chairs in stainless steel with a subtle brushed textural finish.
The pair are named after the place in which they were inspired, by the work of architect Charlotte Periand at the ski station ‘les arcs’ situated in the French Alps.
The chairs are architectural in form, almost futuristic in the design approach, to be a feature piece in a given space without being overwhelming due to relatable material.
The chairs are made by a specialised metal work in France an hour from Paris where they are designed.
Care: Stainless steel can be cleaned using branded stainless steel cleaners available from trade suppliers or from supermarkets, use as directed. Polish/Cleaners such as Sheila Shine are also suitable. Incorrect cleaners can cause staining or corrosion. Acid based products must not be used. When cleaning use a nylon or other non-scratching scourer. When the direction of the ‘grain’ is visible, clean in this direction
