About the art
Artist statement
Table sculpture that reinterprets the materials used in antique furniture. By changing the forms and patterns which were determined by previous uses into structures for new functions, one can feel a peculiar commune between familiar and new.
The top of the desk is made of resin over a mother-of-pearl cabinet from the 1800s, and the table legs are wood which were used as a support for a millstone and a spool.
