Drawing inspiration from nature and ceramics, this piece takes a playful, bulbous form to create a functional, contemplative object. An amorphous waiter holding a tray or a mother cradling her child, this piece is abstract but maintains a viewer’s attention with its fluidity and natural motifs. Each piece is hand-made from a computer-generated template. This mix of both traditional and modern techniques lend the piece its own unique variation and personality. These expressive objects are as much sculptural as they are functional, offering an escape from mass-produced standardization. They can function as a statement side table while blurring the lines between furniture and applied art. The piece was completely made in UAE using locally available materials and can be customized.
