Artist statement
Peony Floor Lamp
At first glance, this lamp, resembling a stone flower, might seem to be made of concrete and appear heavy. However, upon touching it, you'll find that the material feels warm and its texture is more akin to wood than concrete.
Crafted with an eco-friendly mixture of cement, recycled paper, glue, and paint, the Peony floor lamp undergoes meticulous experimentation to achieve a material that closely resembles wood in its properties. The result is a natural texture and strength that ensures durability, setting it apart as a unique and sustainable piece.
One remarkable attribute of this material is its slight elasticity. Unlike rigid materials that may be prone to splitting or crumbling under pressure, this material exhibits a flexible nature, providing a level of resilience that enhances its longevity.
Each piece is handmade and inherently unique, ensuring that it may vary slightly from the image displayed in the photo.
