Ever playful, innovative design studio Duffy London exclusively unveils its latest conversational art-as-furniture piece, the retro-candy inspired Flying Saucer coffee table, brought to life using 100% recycled plastics in a series of pop colour finishes.

An eye-catching, evocative design that refuses to follow convention and serves as a constant reminder to live one’s life to the fullest – to go bigger, go bolder, to be adventurous, and not to take life too seriously.

Following on from Duffy’s first foray 3D printed sand furniture with DUNE table in 2022, this latest piece – and the first to be attributed to lead designer Joseph Wonham – continues the studio’s exploration into sustainable design and manufacturing processes for realising its unique, statement designs.

Like much of the Duffy London design output, the manufacturing process is at the very core of the design process, with 100% of the plastics coming from recycled materials. With 75% of domestic plastic waste coming from food packaging, Flying Saucer not only uses some of this waste plastic but serves as a visual reminder of the environmental impact of plastics in the economy.

For the first editions in the series, Duffy London will team up with Smile Plastics to offer a variety of eye-catching hand-crafted colour-finishes and patterns.
