Conceived as textile pottery, "A rope in the shape of a vessel" is an invitation to reflect upon form and matter. It muses on the power of the image, which remains in our memory irrespective of the material with which the piece is made.
"A rope in the shape of a vessel" claims the use of a humble material and a simple process. At the same time, it explores their potentials. With a single repeated stitch and subtle hand gestures, the pieces are being molded in a process that reminds us of the ceramic coil technique. By joining the rope, the thread leaves its trace, creating a texture on the vessel´s surface.
