Artist statement
RUBRUM RUG is a one of a kind tapestry designed for the floor, representing a glass of red wine viewed from above. This artwork is handmade using tufting technique and pure Portuguese wool yarn with anti-moth treatment. The bass-relief is carved with scissors, creating different heights and a textured based landscape. Portugal has a great tradition of winemaking and each portuguese region produces a broad range of high-quality wines from the world-renowned Alentejo and Douro Valley to the Lisbon area. This comprehensive wine offering is a good representation of the diversity of the portuguese landscape wish has inspired us to create this piece.
