Second Life, explores the relationship between colour and form in fostering moments of joy. The aesthetics of surprise, playfulness and the energy of colour, impacts on how we feel about our environment. Objects can facilitate a sense of wellbeing through momentary and transient joyfulness.
Blurring the line between art and design, Second Life uses upholstery offcuts, which would otherwise be destined for landfill, to create a series of intriguing sculptural, watertight vessels.
Second Life explores the end of life potential of upholstery waste, as it is reborn and re-imagined with vim and new purpose.
