Artist statement
I created this piece during our stay in France which we knew beforehand would be our last holiday together with our 11-year-old dog who died a few months later. So we made many more swimming, cuddeling and ball play memories to be cherished forever.
I brought red clay because it reminded me of my childhood holidays in France, where I played with the yellow-orange clay soil, fully immersed in the moment, much like only little children and dogs can be.
Blessed with a touch of gold on top, following the Japanese Kintsugi repairs tradition
