Artist statement
I made this piece during our last summer in France together with our 11 year old dog who died of cancer a few months later. He was
diagnosed just before we left, so we made many more swimming, cuddeling and ball play memories to be cherished forever.
I brought red clay because it reminded me of my childhood holidays in France playing with the orange clay soil.
Stoneware 2023, dark orange/brown, with sunlight it turns more brighter orange, blessed with a tiny touch of gold on the foot following the Japanese Kintsugi repairs tradition
