Artist statement
The lightest wood chair in the world is ours. Just 1,2kg.
During a lunch in Paços de Ferreira, we came up with the idea of breaking the world record of the lightest wood chair with this kind of wood called Kiri. We started and we made it.
The design is inspired in the concepts of lightness, simplicity and stability. The straw is a homage to the century old traditional of craftsmanship of the north of Portugal. Eliminating the superfluous, the essencial, design and tradition is maintained.
