I wanted to experiment with lace and brocade offcuts from bridal and evening gown ateliers in Jakarta, materials we’ve struggled with before. My daughter also wanted to explore a more collaborative approach, one that would help each textile artisan on our team grow in their craft. However, during this project, we hit the lowest point in our nine-year journey together. Despite the inner turmoil and financial challenges, our commitment to collaboration brought us back together.
