Artist statement
“Our father built a small back-house behind our old house in Banjarmasin. It had a bed, his turntable collection, and a TV. I spent hours there alone after school, listening to his 50s music. I loved those 5 minutes in the evening when the window reflected the sun. He and I both liked being alone. We didn’t talk much. We just endured quietly, but together.”
