Artist statement
Natural-coloured, delicate rooster feathers attached to a hand-sewn lampshade. The feathers’ floating elegance transforms the minimalist cube into an abstract shape. KUBUS H is entirely handmade.
Since time immemorial, feathers have been a symbol of lightness and limitlessness. By nature, feathers are exceptionally dirt-resistant and durable. Under the right conditions, they can last for centuries—as demonstrated by traditional feather ornaments crafted by native peoples of the Americas and still admired in museums to this day.
