Artist statement
This series is inspired by the early colour photography of the great Saul Leiter.
My work is a series of projects made either in response to a particular brief or inspired more often than not by things I have seen. Passing enthusiasms and enduring interests are subsumed into the process. This initial research is followed by material exploration: what if moments, tweaking, pushing, and problem solving.
