About the art
Artist statement
Having designed the 22° 36° 48° bowl in stainless steel, I was seeking to create another object to begin a range. A decanter could also be shaped so that it may sit at three angles. It was complicated to draw the design as every view is different, so having started work in pencil, I moved the development to the the computer where I could work in 3D. The lowest angle of the decanter is the most daring and it is necessary to drink some of the wine before putting it in this position. Thus in use it tells the story of the decanter becoming drunk.
An early version of the design was seen at 'Out of Control' - a conference about design and emotion at Central Saint Martins.
The decanter is mouth blown in borosilicate and is a numbered edition. When ordering, please advise how you would like the owners name to appear on the Certificate of Provenance.
