About the art
Artist statement
Design by JAN PAUL
26 light-bulbs are stuck together like a cluster of bubbles. One light bulb is connected to the power source and burns. This bulb will light up the other bulbs, which function as a lampshade, diffusing and spreading the light.
When the bulb is burned out: simply screw the lamp-holder on to another bulb.
“SPARE” is constructed from 25 classic clear light bulbs and 1 clear LED bulb that looks just like a classic bulb. Let a classic bulb or a LED bulb burn. After +/- 50 years all the bulbs are burned up.
