Artist statement
The Bouga Vessel is part of Ouga Bouga series of vessels to resemble a mix of historical ceramics from different parts of the world. Continuing her fascination with creation, Lilianna uniquely hand paints illustrations of an imagined scenario where creation at its cellular level is recorded by prehistoric man. These pictures take reference from cave paintings and forms done in instinct. Each piece will slightly differ in pattern. Colored bone china is used for the base and comes in three different colors; flesh, deep blue and celadon. Each vessel can stand alone as an art object or can be used for different kinds of functions.
