Artist statement
The Smurf Bottle comes from the Summer Sundays Series of a collaborative project between Lilianna Manahan and Czech Glass Master, Jiri Pacinek. This is the second installment of this collaboration. Summer Sundays takes reference from Liliannas research on historical Bohemian glass sculpting techniques, old glass molds from the 1930s found in Pacinek's workshop and an afternoon mushroom picking session after working with Pacinek and his team at the glass shop. All the glass colors are specialized mixes of Pacinek making the palette available for that summer only.
