About the art
Artist statement
I'm delighted to present here my new series “Balloons” in which I used porcelain paper clay to cover some differently shaped balloons. The external surface consists in a brush work that creates a scrub texture that ends with a touch of white paper clay. I called this exclusive texture “Madrepora” because of its similarity with some natural concretions as corals. My intention is, with a simple media like porcelain, craftsmanship and irony, to transform everyday popular and friendly objects as the balloons in something else. Something not-pop, non-consumerist, not-serial. Something unique, as only Nature can be.
