About the art
Artist statement
Bowl in black porcelain with sand, internally filled with small rolls of very thin white porcelain. Made entirely by hand, fired in a ceramic kiln in oxidation at 1260 ° C. Diameter approx. Cm. 10, total h about cm. 10. Year of realization: 2020. The Oblivion series turns around the theme of remembrance and what is forgotten. A bowl holds together fragile but precious sheets like our memories. Of all the media that I have experienced, ceramic is the one that has allowed me to express myself more fully. In particular, I work with Paper Clay porcelain, a mix of porcelain and paper cellulose, a real ceramic technique that allowed me great creative freedom and allowed me to find a new and personal expressive vein. All my work is about fragility and lightness. It is a non-conceptual approach that investigates the possibilities of the material, sometimes taken to its extreme consequences.
