Artist statement
"White foulings" is part of the "Arcanae exuviae" series which talks about what's left of another life. These very different pieces represent what remains of unidentified life forms. Lives of the past or lives of the future, we do not know, but we are driven to imagine them and ask ourselves about them ... All these works want to evoke different and parallel worlds in which to immerse ourselves and free our imagination.
The bowl is crafted on a balloon with many layers of porcelain overlaied with a brush. The inner layers are dark gray while the outer layers are white and have been added with sand. The "exuviae" are made with white porcelain and a small amount of Murano glass. Fired in single firing in oxidation at 1260 ° C. Measurements: diam. about 32cm, height about 9cm.
