The Alien: 3D printed vase (Autumn Gradient Silk-effect)
*** Please note that for Autumn Gradient vases, colour amount and placement will be different for each individual vase. Photos are representative, but each vase will have a unique placement of copper/green/gold.
The Alien is a functional watertight vase, 3D printed with eco-friendly, degradable PLA bio-plastic (derived from corn starch). The undulating crater design maximises the light reflecting properties of silk-effect PLA. The vase can also be produced in a variety of colours and textures to create different visual effects. The design takes on other characteristics when translated into different PLA textures, when using transparent fluorescent colours, or granular filaments. It is by turns, playful, mysterious, mesmerising.
The Alien has recently been shortlisted for both a 2021 Interior Design Excellence (IDEA) Award, and a 2021 VIVID Design Award.

* Produced in a solar-powered studio. Water used for testing is recycled into a bush garden. Only eco-friendly or recycled packing materials used for shipping.
