About the art
Artist statement
The DNA 3d printed vase is a homage to the diversity of life, and to the genetic molecule that shapes it. DNA has been created to maximise the impact of bi- and tri-colour morphing materials, animating light - like a jolt of electricity - across reflective surfaces.
DNA is unique at every viewing angle, in turns revealing luminous strands, shapeshifting surfaces - or its signature double helix. Its spirit is restless and enigmatic, shifting personality with changing light conditions.
DNA is functional, watertight, and printed with commercially compostable PLA (polylactic acid) bio- plastic.
NOTE: Morphing colours wrap around the vase model. The Tri-colour morph pictured (India: pink/green/gold) shows all the colours that appear in one vase.
